Embodying the Wild Soul
with Anne Hayden and Sheila Belanger
March 22 to 26, 2017
on South Whidbey Island, WA
To embody the wild soul is to express our authentic individual soul essence that lives beneath our everyday personality. Wild soul roots are in the unique mysteries of our psyche: key night dreams, longings, synchronistic encounters, reciprocal relationship with nature, and the creative engagement with our personal muse.
This program is an experiential immersion in wild soul practices (many from Process Work and Soulcraft™) to support you to embody a more soul-centered life. These foundational practices stand alone as tools to live fully and also form the core of our other Northwest Soulquest programs. Participation in this program can count as a prerequisite for entering either of our two Yearlong programs: Seasons of the Soul and Tending the Knowing Field.
In this program, you’ll explore the landscape of your individual psyche through these Wild Soul practices:
- Conversation and relationship with Nature and Mystery
- Ceremonial council and the building of community
- Authentic Movement and other embodiment practices
- Individualized, guided soul tasks in nature
- Process Work (from Arny and Amy Mindell)
- Deep Imagination and drum journeys
- Artistic expression and crafting of sacred objects
- Community and self-designed ceremony
- Song, poetry, silence and belly laughter
- Wild Mind: A Nature-Based Map of the Psyche
The human psyche evolved organically in response to the challenges of living as a highly social mammal embedded in a wildly complex web of ecological relationships in an animate world. All the ways in which we think, feel, sense, and imagine arose in attunement to the rhythm of the day and the turning of the seasons, and in intimate relationship with myriad other life forms and forces.
Although in everyday life we might feel cut off from the richness of our Earthly roots and relationships, the deep structure of the human psyche — the underlying patterns, universal archetypes, and innate capacities available to us all — has emerged from this living web.
